It's 1130 and there is a cat meowing outside my patio door |
|
Earlier that evening, this cat had entered our front yard and my spouse and kid shooed it away.
Later when I came home, the cat followed me to the door and I gave it some attention, and eventually it went away.
While I was holding the cat, I had spied a frayed collar with a tag. Called the phone number engraved on the tag, just got an answering machine.
Now, the cat is meowing outside the patio door. It's cold and wet outside and I let it in. It was happy, since it was warm inside. It surveyed the house but did not settle down. I made up a box with some fleece scraps, set it on the front porch, and let the cat out the front door.
The cat must be able to see me now through the patio door because it's meowing again. My spouse would be livid...told me to "get over my maternal instinct". But this cat is either lost or abandoned. I will take it to the humane society tomorrow if no one on the telephone numbers engraved on the tag answers my phone calls.
I worry since we share the area with coyotes and mountain lions, so I don't know what to do with this critter since it's clear from the other occupants they don't want it in here. What's a mom with a heart to do?

2. I think this cat already did. |
|
Well, this is the only safe haven on the block. The only pets I've seen on this block are dogs. We have no pets.

Looks like something is trying to tell you that what you need in your life is a cute little kitty. Duckie

Your husband will survive. The cat might not.

6. I left it a bed and food outside |
|
I am allergic to cats, after I had the little guy in my lap, my eyes were watering and my nose was running.
I'll have to take it to a shelter today because we share the neighborhood with coyotes.
It is a beautiful little cat but I have to settle for the polyester-stuffed ones....

7. I USED to be deathly allergic to cats. |

When I was a kid. Eyes would itch and swell almost shut.
Then as a young adult I got one 'cuz I fell in love with it.
It was allergy hell for like ten days. Then I got over it. Now, no more kitty allergies! And have had a kitty most of my life since.
See, love conquors all. :loveya:
P.S. If an animal comes to you like that and you bond with it... IT WAS MEANT TO BE. Trust me. You will never regret taking that animal in. Ever.
