male lesbians - is there an equivalent?

it seems that it is considered somewhat cute/funny/witty/flirtatious for guys to "come out" as "lesbians."

in other words, as far as i understand it, hetero guys say they like women and that can make them lesbians.

i have never seen a hetero woman say that she is a gay man because she likes men. i have never seen gay men call a woman queer in an affectionate manner because she likes men. i'm not saying it doesn't happen - just saying that the "male lesbian" gets some play but i have never seen a flip side to that coin.
