well now that I know what was up with that.

$152 dollars worth of software and hardware off Ebay... an old PC, and a little willingness to try. Here is the screen I obtained when I applied the brakes and gave her a little gas two or three times... the screen says three and I believe the screen more than I do myself.

1. I've been thinking about buying an OBD II software package.

Rather than a hand held scanner.

AutoTap is supposed to be pretty good.

Unfortunately, my present laptop won't support the software/hardware requirements.

Does that particular package just support the generic EPA mandated codes, or did it also include the manufacturer's propriety codes?

2. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of this one....

you can get the dirt on it at bowserelectronics.com All I know is that my bank one sensor one set a fault at around 2200 rpms, I was able to pull out the freeze frame and view it... there are software upgrades available to allow you to get into "thousands" more sensors and so forth... I noticed BMW, Mercedes, Duramax, Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi and more listed in the drop down... check out their site, I am going to read up on autotap... thanks for the link 4mor
