8. *groan*
I haven't checked him out yet. I was astonished to learn that he's so big into tango. I thought he was a classical player. I previewed some of the stuff he did with Mark O'Connor recently, but it wasn't really grabbing me.

If I ever start a band, I'll call it Yo Ma Ma.

5. Whenever I hear the name "Yo-yo Ma"
I can't help but think of the "Boutrous Boutrous Ghali" Seinfeld line from the shrinkage/topless at the beachhouse episode.

7. YoYo is the man
I went to high school with Mark O'Connor, the fiddle player on "Appalachian Waltz". He's won a lot of awards, but I thought it was most impressive that he gets to hang around with YoYo Ma.

11. You went to school with Mark O'Connor? He is amazing. A virtuoso.
I still can't believe I MISSED a FREE MarkO concert just a mile from my house last year! Aaaagh! That still sucks.

15. That's horrible!
I'm so sorry to hear that you missed it!

We enjoy watching the Grammies every year and listening for Mark's name. He must use 'em for doorstops. :woohoo: You'd probably also enjoy Natalie MacMaster's music. If she comes to your town, be sure and catch her show. She's amazing as well.

16. I bought a copy of the Unaccompanied Suites...
Then found out that Ma is a big-time Bushite.
I called up and cancelled the order I had in for 4 other albums.
