So how much trouble am I in?
Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 07:32 PM by VelmaD
As most of you know I picked up an abandoned kitty a couple of weeks ago. I decided to give her a test run for a month to see if we get along and we're doing great. But...

I came home to a notice on my apartment door that they're gonna do pest control stuff tomorrow. Should I be worried? Not that the pest stuff will hurt the kitty...but that my apartment management people don't know I have a cat yet. Didn't want to pay the deposit til I was sure I was gonna keep her. Plus I won't really have the cash til next month.

Tell me the pest control people won't give a rat's ass about me having a cat, it isn't something they're likely to consider out of the ordinary, and that I'm worried over nothing.

1. Put the kitty in a skybox, put her in a bedroom and shut the door
I had an illegal cat for 5 years! ;)

Now, we have an illegal poochie!

Stephanie

PS, I wish I had one of your brownies right now....PMS.....

2. So basically...
I just need to hide her and her stuff (food, water, litter) in the bedroom and it should be fine?

She's gonna spaz out but hopefully it'll be ok. She's just gonna have to be quiet. :)

I think I may move everything tonight so she can get used to it being moved.

3. She'll be fine...and the pest control folks could care less!
Seriously, they are probably contracted...doing 100 more after your place, and just want to hurry up, spray and get out-

It's nothing...I promise-

4. So putting her in the bedroom...

would be a good idea anyway so that she doesn't harrass the pest control guys, accidentally eat one of the bait thingies, and doesn't get out when they open the door.

5. Exactly!
The pest control guys don't have that much money either...they probably have "hidden" pets too--

She'll be great!

IF you get questioned, have a response ready immediately...."My great aunt just passed away in a car wreck, and my cousin asked me to keep her for a couple of days until after the funeral." Make it really, really horrible, so the manager will feel sorry for you. It helps if you get teary eyed, and act like you can't talk about it without falling apart.

6. Can you put her in a carrier and take her to a friend's for the day?
Hide food, litter, water?

7. Unfortunately I can't...
my best friend is out of town on vacation and won't be back til late tomorrow night. :(

I'm just gonna put her in the bedroom and hope for the best.

8. Put a note on your kitchen counter telling the exterminator...
to please not spray in your bedroom. That way, he won't open the door and go in.

I don't think that you have anything to worry about.
