some DUers thrive for combativeness. That's their whole point of existence at DU.

8. There are those. I like a good argument as much as the next guy, but |
|
unremitting hostility is not an outlook on life I'd care to have for myself, nor particularly enjoy seeing in others.
Occasional hostility? Yes, indeed. We all do that. But it's not really an advisable everyday hobby.

16. No. I love your brand of assholery. |
|
It's usually tongue in cheek. I'm talking about people who only live to fight with other DUers, who think that thy possess superior intellect, who post obnoxious posts and dare anyone to challenge them.
Come to think of it, it does sound kinda like you. ;) :hi:

|
which could present a painful predicament for the subject on whom the pliers shall be used. :D

Hey! Did you know that Nick's is still standing? I'm planning to go over to PA soon. Is your family ok?

Everything turned out OK. The big project was cleaning out my grandmother's freezer...it was full of huge pieces of beef she was storing for the KofC hall. :D
Good to hear Nick's is okay. :hi:

13. My aunt and uncle had the same problem, though not nearly on that scale! |
|
And my cousin came home to find all of his pet finches dead. :(
I'm wondering how Pleasure Island held up. I wanted to rent a cabin on my next visit, but I'm going to hold off doing that until Wilma's gone.
Also, I was wondering if there are any hotel rooms available over there. I love the Holiday Inn at Park Center, but I doubt it has availabilities.
Yeah, I could stay with my aunt and uncle, but I don't like to do that. My son is too rambunctious for their museum of a house, and I have two schnauzers travelin' with me.
Glad to hear that your family is ok.

15. The last time I was in town... |
|
I stayed at the MCM Eleganté, which until recently was a Hilton. It was tres nice, and I don't recall it being terribly expensive. I understand it suffered some damage from the storm though.
Things are apparently starting to come back to life. My grandmother was able to go back home on Saturday, and my uncle and his sons cleaned up debris and whatnot.
Sad about your cousin's finches. :(
