1. This is ringing a bell. Why does it seem familiar?
I've seen that name recently... who is it?

2. Fantastic British band fro the late 70's/early 80's
Very cool mix of punk/funk/minimalism/art that is actually very contemporary. I think a lot of new bands cite them as influences which would partially explain why the show was so well attended.

Their album "Entertainment" is quite good.

3. Hmmm...okay, that part isn't ringing a bell. But I'm sure they've been
getting some mentions here on DU. I know I've seen the term "Gang of Four" here a number of times recently.

I don't know that band at all, I'm embarrased to say.

4. They are pretty obscure.
Even though their stuff was on a major label...

The last 3 shows I've been to have all been reunion-type gigs.

Gang of Four

Devo

Mission of Burma

All 3 shows were excellent!

5. I envy you!
GOF is in my top five of all time.

I listened to "To Hell With Poverty" earlier today.

13. "We'll get drunk on cheap wine!"
I love Go4. I didn't even know they were stil together, let alone touring.

I guess Andy Gill has a home and a Volvo All-Trac to pay for ;)

9. Saw then in DC a few months ago
and had a ticket to see them in Chapel Hill a week or so ago but couldn't get off of work.

One of the best shows I've seen in ages. They rocked out harder than most of the bands half their age.

They are giving money away with the new cd. Seriously, a fresh one dollar bill in every cd.

11. Yeah
There's 2 versions. A single cd and a double that has remixes by a bunch of different artists.
