Astros have played a great game, but I feel it's a crying shame that a
homerun can be a 321 ft lazy flyball. That just makes me sick.

2. Yeah. But, whatever. I feel that I know who the umps. . .
were for in this series. At least tonight was a little more fair.

3. I can't blame the umps, I think they just suck in general.
Our batting average with runners on base has been pathetic.

There were some fucked up calls in this fucking series.

6. I think the umpiring in both series has sucked. Hard.
Baseball ought to review the tape and do some re-education.

5. yeah, that makes me sick as well

it seems like every HR the astros hit barely scrapes the left field wall and lands there, aka "The Ladies' Tees Box"

I had heard somewhere that pitchers call it the "pussy box" or some other expletive for the home of junior varsity-caliber home runs

and other stadiums are not immune, see yankee stadium, along with the phillies

7. I feel that the Sox are going to be majorly pissed after this series.
I hate to tell Houston this, but ChiSox have been better pitching this season as a unit.

9. I think McGwire would have had 90 in 1998 if he were a Stro.
He would have hit close to 400 over a career after reviewing his stats.

13. Izzy's doing well.
Just think what that tells Lidge though! Hey, you burned one! I think he's a tad tired. 4 innings in 3 games in 3 days for a closer, shit.

That guy has killed us. Even Mariano Rivera gave it up sometimes though.

15. Yeah, but Rivera is not a 98 mph guy. He has sick shit.
Lidge has 2 pitches. Fastball/slider. Let's go back to STL! Get them Cards fans and wake up the echoes of Stan the Man, Rogers Hornsby and Gibby.

18. the astros were screwed by an ump
against the mets in 1987-something-ish. i remember (sorta, kinda). it was the last time i watched baseball after having become a serious fan. my heart got broke. i would love to hear that they won the series. it might fix the sadness i have felt since that umpire made the wrong call at 1st base.

If it were anybody but the Cardinals, I'd be cheering for the Astros. But it is, so I'm not.

20. i used to be really 'up' on baseball
back when i used to go watch nolan ryan pitch at the 'dome. not being a truly sports/team/rah rah rah type person i was devestated when i thought "my team" lost unfairly. and then, not being a truly sports/team/rah rah rah type person, i pretty much gave up watching baseball.

but i still don't like the mets! ;-)

the only thing that could ever draw me back in to baseball would be a winning tigers team! when you come from detroit the tigers own your heart!

Although my heart may not be able to take it.

I really would like the Astros to make it to the World Series...just not this year and/or against my Cardinals. :)

I love Missouri and worked there for five summers as a National Park Ranger. What a beautiful state, once you get out of the big cities.

31. My dad and I were discussing how much the 'Stros sucked when it happened.
That was the end of coherent conversation for a long while.

Did you see Pettite in the dugout? You could see him mouth "Oh. My. God."

Pujols made a sad, stressed little college student very happy tonight, even if it is only temporary. :)
