Tech Question AIM

I just loaded Netscape 8 on my work computer and can't figure out how to turn off the sounds. (those annoying bleeps when you get/send a message)

It used to be under Preferences but I've looked very hard through all the tabe and I'm damned if I can find it!

Have they taken away this ability? Do I have to turn my speakers off? I use this computer to play music and those sounds come through the speakers and scare the living crap out of me. (and announce to the entire world I am chatting)
