Waking up.
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 09:13 AM by GirlinContempt
Waking up to New Order's "Crystal" makes today a little more bearable.

It's gloomy out my window. I'm a little hung over. And the full reality of what I've got to do today is weighing on me.

But, as with anything, it's not all bad. This cup of coffee, for instance, and my cigarettes, are just a couple of lifes compensations

Ever have one of those mornings where you just can't seem to get yourself to do things (like get ready, for instance)?

1. Everybody has mornings like those
I wouldn't worry, unless these mornings drastically outnumber the mornings were you have no problems "getting ready".

3. I'm worried they might start to outnumber the good ones
but no use borrowing trouble

5. If you don't already
have an exercise program, I recommend getting one. I find that regular exercise makes it a lot easier for me to "get ready" for the day.

Also, try to go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning.

And yes, you do need 8 hours of sleep a night. A lot of people try to fool themselves into thinking 5 or 6 hours is enough. Scientific research says there are few people who thrive on less than 7 or 8.

6. I generally get about 8 hours of sleep
Though, my exercise program is running up and down stairs and climbing ladders and hauling boxes all day :P

It's more of an emotional dread than a physical thing.

But, on the up-side, I just got offered a ride which gives me an extra half hour to procrastinate

7. I hope today is easier than you think it will be
Emotional dread is an awful feeling, and worse to confront in the morning than physical pain or fatigue, for me, at least. Here's a  for you...

Crazy busy, but mostly in a good way (moving, school, kiddo and husband!). We need some more sunshine, though, I agree!

10. Good to hear
Sometimes crazy can be good ;) Sunshine would be nice... at least, brightness.

All I wanna do today is curl up on the couch with some adorable boy and read books and drink coffee and smoke.

Waaah waaah lifes not fair ;)

(well minus the smoking, but that's neither here nor there)... It's gotten a little sunnier here, hopefully it will do the same for you! :)

23. Awesome!
Doesn't look like theres much chance of it clearing up here, but it's still early.
But mmm mmm mmm rye toast with real butter, dark roast coffee, and the hopes that the books aren't as bad as I think they'll be.

If I look like this by the end of the day, feel free to point and laugh

15. Astute observation
That take you the full ten minutes to realize? Or was 5 of it spent seething with rage over my impertinence? ;)

22. Oh, mornings are ALL mine!
I *love* getting up! Nothing like springing out of bed all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to take on the world! Chugging down a scrumptious glass of delicious, healthy, life-affirming OJ, and then I'm off on my 5:00 am three-mile run. Then a hot, HOT shower, a vigorous towelling off, and then, fleet-footed, I head of to work, eager to face every challenge the day can throw my way! Bring it on world! I'll kill every last fucking one of you shiteating bastards!
