Good Night, And Good Luck
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 01:31 PM by SIU_Blue
is a new drama-mentary coming out about the McCarthy era and the few news reporters who challenged his "hearings". It has some big name actors, (read: George Clooney) and some big awards. If anyone has seen it, let me know how it is cause I want to see it. Anyone who hasn't seen it, check out the site, it's pretty cool.

Ah, the days when journalism was more than talking heads and entertainment.

On edit, fixed link.

2. I haven't seen it just yet....but I will.
The reviews have ALL been outstanding!

Run, don't walk, to your nearest and most convenient theater and SEE IT!

I'm sure you won't be sorry......

I wait for them to come out on DVD, these days...don't care for going into the theaters any more........

:hi:

5. Why Hello!
I will definitely see it, unfortunately I go to college in a rural area, so I might not be able to see it for awhile.
:banghead:

Oh well, thanks for the reply!!!!

8. You're welcome!
I like to come into threads where there aren't any responses, and give them a sort of meaningful kick!

I checked out your profile, and it seems to me that there should be some theaters in your town...

Or would your college show it? It certainly is timely!

10. It sure is timely
there are a few theatres, but they like to cater to college students, so mostly they have bad action/slapstick comedy type of movies. I think the school will show it at some point, but that's usually months later. Hopefully I will see it as I am traveling to Chicago this weekend.

Always good to hear from you!

4. I saw this film on Saturday.
The stroke of genius was that they used actual footage of Sen. McCarthy instead of casting an actor to play him. I loved the film. :bounce:

7. Ya I wonder what Ann Coulter's reaction has been, since she made a big

deal out of championing the great patriot McCarthy. Sorry I don't go to wingnut sites...

On edit: This is highly recommended. I really liked it. My favorite acting performance was Frank Langella as Bill Paley, head of CBS. Human, but very authoratative and intimidating as a good CEO probably would be. Guy you'd feel a little uncomfortable on a long elevator ride with, especially if you'd been having any problems at work...

going to the movies and running into Ann Coulter.

:puke:

Do they let her out of the cage often?
