Hey Auto Parts People! Need help locating replacement cup holder
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 01:36 PM by Whoa_Nelly
Am frustrated! Have looked all over for a link I THOUGHT I had saved to purchase a replacement cup holder for my Oldsmobile Silhouette 2000. It's a dual cup holder that flips down from the inside lower edge of the front passenger seat Dealer's cost is almost $100 for this plastic piece.

Am hoping someone who knows how to do a better search than me re: auto replacement parts can give me a link.

Much thanks in advance :hi:

Nelly

on edit:
Looked for a DU Car/Auto Forum, but didn't see one...

they might even let you come in and take out out for a plug nickle.

2. Nice idea, but would have to travel over 40 miles
to find a salvage yard. I love in a very rural part of CA. To make the trip to pull one, would be the same in additional cost in buying one from the local dealer.

6. Check here.
http://www.car-part.com

A couple of notes: After you enter the vehicle info in, you'll probably
get several different years and models... this means that those years and models are interchangeable with your 2000 Silhouette.

The cup holder is part of the seat (these is no parts listing for "cup holders").

Certain parts like car seats, doors, instrument clusters, etc are sometimes sold as a whole unit only (depends on the yard). What this means is that those particular items can't be parted out (they won't just sell the doorhandle from a door, back cushion from a seat, or speedometer from an instrument cluster). The reason is because then the
unit as a whole loses reatail value.

Then again, some yards don't care about which parts you strip out.

7. Thanks
There are no cup holders at that site. I know how to disassemble the seat base plastic trim to remove and replace the cup holder unit. As far as going to a salvage place, am many many miles from anyplace like that as I live in a very rural part of CA.

Thanks for your input and assist :hi:
