Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 04:10 PM by charlie and algernon
damn, how do i always find the fundies? My now ex-best friend is a fundie, i got mixed up in a fundie group on campus, and now my company bosses are fundies. son of a bitch!
I heard from my co-workers that they won't allow anyone to have a buddha on their desk, catholics aren't well liked (i am one), Pentacostal are hated more, and halloween is an evil, demonic holiday, so that means no one can have fun with it on monday when it comes.

1. Well, that is the idea |
|
It's All Hallow's Eve, isn't it? All Hallow's day is a very auspicious day, so all the evil spirits come out the night before and party while they still can. Or at least that's what I remember being taught when I was little.
Of course it's just become a load of commercialised crap just like Christmas has, but that doesn't mean someone is a dick for actually viewing the day the old-fashioned way.
Just my 0.02.

i like what it's become, a harmless holiday where kids get to dress up, go out into their neighborhoods and get free candy. it's so much fun, that's why i can't comprehend the hang up fundies have about it.

if they believe that that night is when demoniac spirits go out and have it large, and you're out having it large on the same night, they might possibly think that you have a demoniac nature yourself.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but it's always helpful to try to see things from someone else's perspective, if possible.

8. Well if someone did get fired, I'm sure they'd cover it |
|
up. But that is illegal unless it is a private Christian orginazation.

11. definitely not a private christian org |
|
or any private company, so yeah, they'd have to cover it up by coming up with some lame excuse.

5. Ha! you should have seen the memo I once got about the Oscars |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 04:10 PM by underpants
this came from a very high up in the Va. Repub party too.
This long memo (this guy wasn't very email friendly) was about how Hollywood meets once a year to praise and worship their golden statue...their false idol. Seriously it went on and on about it.
That was in 2000.
ON EDIT-my boss at the time put it or had it put in everyone's inbox.

6. lol, that's pretty funny |
|
what did you do with it?
i'd either throw it away, hang it up for my own amusement, or bring in one of the statues for my desk.

10. I saved it for a while |
|
I have tried to find it on the web but they must keep that lunacy (probably didn't focus group well) to themselves.
I'm not kidding this guy left a conference to have dinner with a Va. Governor (at the time), W , and Poppa Bush at his house to give them a campaign donation check...BIG MONEY.
