Or do you even have one?
Especially if you're gay.
But I digress, can you trust your partner to stick around?
Or if you lose your family and there can be nobody else, how do you survive?
Or at least cope with the reality of reality?

1. I hope he'd stick around |
|
I think he would. But I have to say, the only person I don't doubt at all is my best friend. He will always be there for me.

2. My family are those I am close to |
|
People can leave at any time. Partners grow apart sometimes gay or otherwise. This seems like a sad post to me. I feel sad thinking of it. You OK?

But I will admit I might be close to losing my family... and it's not the type of family you'd even begin to expect.

It is just my husband and my dog up here. My husband's parents call and email him all them time and he goes over there once in a while. My family is days drive away. I am not that close to my parents because of my upbringing. I was close to my grandparents though. I don't contact them much though in part because I do miss them and for me it is sometimes easier not to talk to people who I was close to who I cannot see anymore. For example, I talked to my grandparents on the phone the other day and cried for quite a while afterwards. It is hard. I also have a sister close to the same age, but don't talk to her much for the same reason. We have a couple friends who are sort of like family. I don't know if they consider that on their part or not though. I don't know if our circumstances change that they will still be there or not. Sometimes, I wish that I had a family here.

And my best friend and her husband and children. My genetic family and I have never really been close. My sister and I were, but she's gone. Now all I have is Skip and his family. And he'll stick around. I don't think either of us would be the same without the other. Duckie

I can count my cats too, but I will be devastated and homeless when my aunt goes. I dread the day.
