and crap like the ac drop really happens. keep in mind that a lot of people in construction end up there cause they don't fit in anywhere else and didn't have skills besides being able to lift stuff.

and tools get stolen all the time, unfortuanately. it happens so often that commercial insurance for construction companies usually has specific terms for replacing stolen tools. i worked on a job in arizona where another group of subcontractors stole all of our tools while we went to lunch. they locked their truck and just flat denied they knew anything about it. we were outnumbered 6-2, so i told the other guy to call the cops or go home. i only lost a few small items, he got cleaned out.
