My Firefox is acting up...
I don't see any grids on websites anymore. This problem didn't start until today.

For example, here on the DU, I don't see the grid lines between posts or threads. All I see is a white space. That's all I see on most web pages. Also, some images aren't showing up here on Firefox, but they do show up on Internet Explorer.

If anyone could help me fix this problem, I'd be forever grateful. :)

6. It looks like it's not getting the style sheet
because it's unformatted. Delete all your history and cached files and try again.

I used Firefox for a few months, I gave it an honest try - but it turned out to be too buggy for practical use so I dumped it

13. Did you report the bugs you found?
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/bugs

If you do so, you're helping everybody. The developers want to know about bugs you find so that they can make the software better.

Nothing I hate more than people who bitch about free software ("this is a heap of shit") when there is something positive they can do to remedy the situation.

It isn't like commercial software where there is no way to report bugs, and even if you complain to customer support they'll either deny it (must be your system) or tell you to buy the next release.

14. There's a difference between 'free' software, and software that's
marketed as the Microsoft killer.

2. Have you updated firefox?
I don't know shit about computers, but
https://addons.mozilla.org/?application=firefox

I also have found out that sometimes its DU tweaking itself, and sometimes it's my server(comcast). Although, as I said, I'm compustupid.

7. Looks like FF failed to download the stylesheet
It's a separate file from the main html, and it says what fonts to use, how to format tables etc. Try reloading.

Is DU slow for you?

10. It's not slow.
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 09:41 AM by Fox Mulder
It's just loading like I showed in post #1.

And I did reload it hundreds of times, and still nothing. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Nothing.

Maybe I should go back to IE. :(

8. Try switching to the Beta version.
I did that a couple of weeks ago when i was having problems and now it works perfectly. I can give you the link to that, and to a firefox forum when I get home.

I just installed the beta version of Mozilla, and it works!

Thanks for the suggestion! You've made my day! :hi: :pals:

12. I suspect Windows shenanigans
that the new version is somehow capable to work around.

I use the Linux version of Firefox -- 1.0.x, not the beta -- and NEVER had such a problem.

18. I dunno
It's just when somebody asks for some help with it, matcom traditionally jumps in and tells them to get rid of that heap of shit. He never says why, but being the helpful chap I am, I thought I'd save him the effort!

Personally, I use Firefox at work and Mozilla at home.

20. Download Netscape. Problem solved. You're welcome.
I had to add this. There are always the PC snobs and the Mac snobs and other dueling snobs saying my (fill in the blank) is superior to yours. I guess I am officially announcing that I am one of those Netscape diehard snobs.
