yikes! amazon.com sent us the wrong receipt!

mrs. unblock order a few books but the receipt enclosed belonged to someone else.

the shipping address on the receipt was a CORRECTIONAL FACILITY in michigan (no, we live in a nice home in new jersey, thank you very much).

the book list on the receipt included 2 books on body building, 1 book on 12-step recovery, and "don't call it love: recovery from sexual addiction" by patrick carnes.

yikes! hate to speculate what the guy's in for, but the sexual addiction book is a big clue!

i hope prisoner #(REDACTED) doesn't have OUR address!

3. Sexual addiction is not always or as far as I know

Is not usually indicative of a rapist or child molester. From my limited understanding it comes from an inability to sooth self and involves a lot of self gratification. However the 12 step book is perfect for any "stinking thinking" causing problems.

THe person ordering the books appears to be attempting to learn something about their dysfunction. I think you'll be alright.:hi:

a sex addict is certainly more likely to get himself into a date-rape situation. also, the books on recovery might have been required and/or for show.

nevertheless, the fact that he's currently incarcerated provides some comfort for us.


the other thing that provides comfort is that he most likely does not have our receipt. i know enough about computer programming to systems to know that a simple swap of receipts is less likely than and 'off by one' error. in other words, each package on the line got the next person's receipt until the problem was detected. probably caused when one receipt didn't load or two receipts stuck together.

but somehow, still :scared:
