Harry should probably have a claw removed. Tell your weird pet med tales.
*** ALERT *** SOME MAY THINK MY TALE GROSS OR AT LEAST TOO SAD TO READ!

Poor Harry was at the ER last night. He has one mutant claw that grows way faster than the others. It had grown into his paw pad and become infected. They took it out and treated the infection, gave him stuff for pain, etc. But we will ask the vet about having that one claw removed, because it's happened before - just not this bad. (I am a bad cat mom. I forget to trim the claw.)

What are your weird pet medical tales? If they might be gross or sad please put a disclaimer in your subject line.

1. Gross. But not sad because she turned out fine.
My older dog ate three socks. She got into the hamper and grabbed them. I didn't even know because she was acting completely normal, and even ate her food. But one night she just threw up three partially digested (WTF? How did she partially digest SOCKS?) socks. That dog has a stomach of steel.

7. She's always been into eating clothes.
I had to get used to putting all clothes in the hamper pretty quick. But that was the first time, that I know of, that she actually went into the hamper to get something out. She's such a jackass.

3. We had a cat with epilepsy about 15 years ago.
She had to take barbiturates for seizures. She some how got out of the house while under the influence and we never saw her again.

4. My dog Laz licked hot sauce off of our plates one night and got sick.
She had really bad stomach and butt problems for a couple days and wasn't getting any better. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with Pancreitis. I didn't even know there WAS such a thing. We had to have her on medication and now the poor thing eats that "sensitive stomach" food and can't have any people food treats.

6. My Boston Terriers
Have bulgy eyes which are constant need of treatment it seems!

Not long agao, my boy was sticking his head at the car window when a piece of flying debris got him right in the eye! It was a small stick! :(

Anyway, he had it removed and is fine now, no damage to the eye but he takes drops in that eye still once a week and this happened over a year ago!

8. Our cat Peppercorn once swallowed a bee.
She also once ate the handle off a wicker basket and we had to take her to the hospital to get it removed. These all happened over ten years ago. She's now fourteen and still going strong!
