Mother of God. I just looked at the list of pronouns in Latin I have to
memorize.

Sweet Jesus, Mother Mary and God.

Why in the HELL did I want to go back to school?

14. The Episcopal Church
It's really easier to study the biblical stuff if you have Latin.

18. I would think that the Greek would be more important
A German prof (also a prof of Religious studies) said that one of the triggers for the reformation was that Western Europeans were learning Greek again (they'd forgotten it during the dark ages) and were beginning to notice that some teachings of the church used scriptural evidence that was not as strong in the Greek as it looked in Jerome's Vulgate.

21. You were wise to decide that way!
My Latin TA told us that most of the students in the Greek classes took Latin first, and that Greek is tougher. By learning Latin you can build up strength for Greek.

13. oh
I tried Latin in college for a language requirement.
I was going to take hebrew (The already know the alf abet or should I say Alembert,I already know how to read it, and I know a fair amount of hebrew words)but it closed just as I was going to pick it. I wasn't good at Spanish so I chose Latin thinking it would be easy. I thought I had to memorize those latin routes for the SAT's and I know some legal, and medical terms this should be a snap, I thought. I could not have been more wrong!!!

12. Are you in pain?
There might be. There might be some sort of a plan where we get queasy, and headaches all at the same time.

15. I'm a little bummed. I only got 93% on exam number 2
Of course, I started studying only 6 hours before the exam, so I guess it's my own fault.

The personal pronouns don't look so bad. Pretty similar to the special -ius adjectives.

3. Good luck.
I had four years of Latin in high school, and I'll probably be taking more of it to finish up my language requirements.

I can't really help with memorization, but if you have any troubles, I'd be glad to help. :hi:

4. You wanted to go back because the temporary pain will soon be
overtaken by the new knowledge you crave.

Knowing some Latin is an excellent way, IMHO, to expand your knowledge of English and any other language you want to learn.

Hang in there, baby, it does/will get better!

I read this little essay some years ago, and it helped me get where I was going; maybe it will help you right now! I have NO idea who wrote it, though:

"Please make sure you have a definite goal in mind. During times of greatest stress, when you're ready to dump the whole thing, thumb your nose at the instructor, and shout "I quit" (or something less socially acceptable), it takes a very special purpose to regather your determination and begin again...

Most important, believe in yourself. Remember, you will make it up that ladder. Then, when you reach out and pick up your goal, smile and say, "I'm worth it!" Because you surely are."

All the best to you!

I so did hope that this would help you...I am very glad it is!

You have to take the long view.....but that's hard when you're scrabbling around in the muck you need to learn.
