5. What's your cleansing routine?
Sometimes harsh cleansers can mess up your skin. I cut out all the chemical stuff and just use a good bar of oatmeal soap, works well for me.

26. Take essential fatty acids
preferably fish or flaxseed oil.

It will do wonders for your skin.

There are combination oils, omega 3-6-9; that's a good choice, too.

27. Getting enough fruits/vegs, water, and sleep?
My skin looks God-awful when I don't get enough sleep (and when I'm stressed out). My guess is it would be either stress-related or sleep-related, so long as you're eating good foods (staying away from highly processed crap). Although I have a friend who has the MOST gorgeous, clear skin and the girl lives on Cherry Pepsi and Pizza Rolls :puke:

Try to get a good 8 hours of sleep every night and keep up with drinking plenty of water and try adding some fruits to your diet too. It helps me to use some meditation techniques, too to try and unwind and help deal with the stress. Hang in there

36. I get stress acne....
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 07:27 PM by youthere
I use witch hazel as a cleanser/toner and then use (believe it or not) chamomile tea. Brew some strong chamomile tea, let it cool and then use a cotton pad to wipe it on your face. It speeds the healing and leaves your face feeling really soft and nice. If you have any inflammation or soreness apply cold packs and if there redness you can use Visine just dab it on the blemishes with a cotton ball. Make sure you do the chamomile at least two times a day for best results.

44. mine is really bad.....
It really sucks too...

I had a few years when my skin was great...

I had bad skin when I was a teenager and into my twenties.

Then, I had a time when my skin was good, not great, during my late twenties and early thirties. Now, I have bad skin issues again, but different. That sucks.

As a man, I've wondered if it might be okay to use "foundation" or something. I haven't used it yet, but, dear lordy, sometimes I want to cover up some of my facial stuff (seborrheic dermatitis, sp?). I don't know where to begin with all the products! Something that would cover up my skin problems, but wouldn't add to problems because of all the chemicals in "makeup".

Aaarghh!

46. Mario Badescu
Mario Badescu makes the best products ever, not to sound like a completely useless infomercial. It's really amazing, the drying lotion, to correct new breakouts overnight. You can buy it online, www.mariobadescu.com. I think the only shop is in NYC. One little bottle lasts forever; I really can't say enough about it. The only problem is you then have ridiculous pink dots on your face when you sleep, but tis a small price to pay.

The drying lotion is great for combination skin, because you can apply it directly to the problem area, but still moisturize. I find using harsh cleaners and toners all over my face just makes it worse.

And don't touch your face: it's harder the worse you feel about your skin, but don't touch it. Don't bite your nails, don't rest your sleepy face on your hands, don't tap the end of your nose (that's what I do when I'm thinking).

AND, I'm sure it's not as bad as you're thinking!
