My company is nice and gives 15, starting. 'Course if we lived in Europe, we'd have 30... so it's all about perspective, I guess....

Hell, most of those are toast just needing a day off here or there to get things done. I can't remember the last time I took a full week off. :-(

They give you one day per year after 10 years. I have 11 years so I have my three weeks plus my extra day. 21 paid in all.

I'll get 23 the year after next, 24 the year after that, then 25, 26, to a maximum of 27. If I stay there that long. (I've been made redundant from three jobs so far. And I'm only 29). :)

I'm only working P-T (32 hours) right now after getting downsized in April, but they did let me have a month off for surgery and another week off for a honeymoon next month -- all unpaid, but at least I still have a job.
In my FT job, I had 30 days vacation and 10 sick days in addition to holidays. Those were the days. Doubt I'll see that again.

so that's 15 days of leave plus about 9 or 10 state/federal holidays.
Now, ask me how much of that annual I actually use. *sigh*

22. Used to get 5 whole days. |

Now it's up in the air. My boss just sold the company and our new policy says that "in order to maintain a proper work to life balance vacation time will be awarded at the discretion of management".
How's that for paternalistic, patronizing, bullshit?
Now we get to go to management so they can tell us we can't possibly have any time off because we're oh so busy. I can see so many problems with this policy; who brown noses the best gets the most vacation time being only one of them.
I can look out of my office window and see union guys who have gotten locked out and have now been replaced by permanent replacement workers and I think, jeez, you guys don't know how much I appreciate what you and the others before you did to help all workers, union and non union.
No, I fear, everyone is going to be in my boat soon.

27. 18 total for vacation and sick time, BUT |
|
Literally the only holidays I get off are Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and New Year's Day. If they happen to fall during the work week, I get paid for those. If they don't, well, no paid holidays that year! (except T'giving which is always a Thursday). If I take off work for days like Christmas Eve or 4th of July or the Fri after T'giving I have to use my vacation time.
So it isn't as much as it sounds.

I have only been able to use 2 so far and I have saved 15 sick days. If it stays this busy I will not be able to take the rest. My last full week off was almost a year and a half ago. Taking 3-4 day weekends seems to be the best I can do.
