of course, every year I swear I will turn over a new leaf and mail out all birthday and holiday cards on time. :eyes: Hasn't happened yet.

10. Hey, I'm with ya on the Halloween candy thing
I wait until the last possible second to buy that shit....otherwise, it would be too tempting to EAT!

Seriously.

12. I try not to buy Halloween candy until the day before Halloween.
Or even on Halloween. I don't want it disappearing before it's time to give it out!

This year, though, I bought two bags of 100 assorted candy bars (the good ones!) when they were on a great sale a week or so ago, and I hid them in the freezer.

4. So, what are you getting me this year?
I haven't. Christmas will be simple as always, just gifts (not extravagant) for a few people and books and craft supplies or board games for the nieces and nephew.

I don't get people going into debt over it. Just spend what you can. Some years are simply better than others. This won't be one of them.

7. I may have to do a combo...
A multi-purpose gift...for another occasion in a few weeks. :-)

I don't wildly overspend. I'm not Donald Trump or anything.

18. Yes. And I've been on a strict workout regimen
I need to be ready for the "Feats of Strength" if I'm going to pin my elderly Grandfather in under three minutes.

11. Yes.
And all in cash, baby. Trying not to rack up "January bills" this year!

We are serious about cutting back on the material aspect of Christmas this year too, and emphasizing family togetherness. Our gifts are going on a theme of things we can do together as a family (games, family movies, movie tickets, Zoo membership, that kind of thing).

13. Wow. You're scaring me.

Seriously, I usually don't start til after Thanksgiving.

Admittedly, I have sometimes held, as a lofty goal, getting it ALL done BEFORE Halloween....but alas, it is not to be. I've always been impressed and mildly jealous of those who can pull it off, though.

I'm in Birthday Central right now with both my kids' bds, and respective parties, coming up soon. Plus, my hubby's 50th happening in mid-Dec. and he wants to have a humungo partay for that one, sooooo you get the picture.

...getting through all THAT is challenge, enough!

For me, these days, Christmas gift shopping is the last thing on my mind. Sometimes it's all I can do to get DINNER on the table. I'm not kidding. :eyes:

20. Not only started it, but pretty
much have finished it. I have to get some Borders bookstore gift cards for the younger cousins and a couple more toys for my daughter. If finances permit, I would like to buy my husband a better table saw. He wants to make furniture and the one he has won't work for that. But if they don't and since we are going to Disney World in February they probably won't, he's got all that he's getting, which isn't much. We are cutting way back this year on everyone because of the projected increase in energy costs.
