2. Addicted. The perfect game to play in class.
It looks like you're typing.

Darn Matcom for posting a link to that infernal website. :)

3. Oh my gosh - I am ADDICTED!
I've purchased 3 books (two of which I'll take with me on our trip to Europe next month; it's hard to stay out of them now!). Some of them are really tough, deceptively so.

11. Oh great . . .
I recently picked up a Dell crossword and variety puzzles book, because it's been a while since I've done any crosswords or logic problems (which I love).

I saw a page with "Number Place" at the top. I thought, "that looks just like that Sudoku game. But how the heck do you play it? Is there a strategery?"

Then I went to the link, and I see that there is. Now I'm hooked! :hi:

5. I've got the shakes...
because I was in too big a rush to pick up the paper so I could do the puzzle on the subway. Sudoku withdrawal is brutal.

10. It was just a couple of tests.
I have absolutely no idea how I did. Fortunately the HR woman said they'd give me a shout the middle of next week to let me know whether or not they're gonna want me to come in for a second interview. That's a courtesy I'm really grateful for.

But I'm gonna throw on a coat, get the last beer out of the fridge, go sit on the back steps, and do today's sudoku.

:toast:

6. I had an interesting Sudoku question to ask you
As you might have noticed, some Sudoku puzzles can be solved entirely without making any guesses or backtracking, and some cannot. Is there an (easy) way to determine this about a given Sudoku puzzle without exhaustive computation? In other words, how do you classify a given Sudoku puzzle as easy or hard without solving it?

to which I don't have an answer. I just started doing them a couple of days ago.

14. I don't think there is any easy way of checking

short of the brute force method of trying to solve the puzzle and seeing whether any guessing is needed.

I don't like having to guess, so I do the Times of London puzzles, which are all guaranteed to be solvable by logic alone (i.e. without trial and error)-- even their most difficult puzzles (rated "Fiendish").

9. Love doing those puzzles!
I've found that I like to do them better on paper-too easy to "cheat" using the on line ones
So, I print them out and keep them on my table to do during the day-keeps my mind limber....
