Have you seen that Wilma is still sitting over Cancun just spinning away? Plus, she's down to a category three!

The hurricane panels are going up today. They can handle whatever we get, I'm sure. :)

I feel bad for Cancun! :scared:

That way, she'd leave Florida completely alone!

7. That would be nice.
I'm tired of hurricanes ... ready to leave South FL.

This year I wish we'd been able to dig up enough money to buy the accordion shutters. It's a pain putting up the panels and I can't help very much.

There's another storm out there that might become Alpha.

But not because I've been affected, personally, by them this year...but because the US has had so many this year and too many people have been hurt because of them!

My friends and family are ready with the clean white coats for me ... I get upset about all the people who have suffered, and still are suffering, from the hurricanes. It blows my mind and I'm so powerless to help.

3. Morning Clint!
I had a decent day yesterday. Hopefully I'll have a decent day today. I was going to take my dogs hiking but if this rain doesn't let up it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Currently, I am looking around on a site called Liberal Underground. http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=60876&subForumID=197544 They let conservatives post there, and it seems pretty interesting thus far.

How are you today?

where they feel like they've been ripped off. A lot of reports are about mail in rebates. Best Buy has a lot of complaints, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc....You should check it out sometime...you'll get a big laugh at people on that site also! I post rebuttals all the time on it too!

34. That IS funny!
I've been reading some of the reports of a company I used to work for, and it is much fun to be able to say some of the things to those customers that I wasn't able to say when I was working there. A few of the customers are actually right, but most of the complaints are the same old bullshit -- people didn't read the signs, people think they should get special treatment RE returns, etc. Thanks for referring me to that site. :D

The return policy is posted all over the place in every store, AND on the back of the receipt. Yet, people still think they should be able to return it because they changed their mind. I like the ones who would tell me that Target lets them return open software, which is bull. NO company does that.

38. Miss Coco is tiny, about 5 pounds
So she jumps on my desk and lays across my arm right at the elbow. She is a doll. She crawls under the covers at night and sleeps under my neck, and like my dog, tries her best to be attached by the minutest of points whenever I am home. My dog however, is much too large to come up on the desk, and not to elegant at that. :)

He was fat as a kitten, and stayed fat all of his life. At 16 he could no longer jump up on the bed at night, but nonetheless, he was a bud. One of my greatest kitties. At his heaviest he was 24 pounds.

51. Was the king of my home, fucking vets tried that special food too
Gives them reason to sell you food you don't need to buy. Fed them twice a day, once in morning, once in evening. You don't think that there is a little obesity in nature? I had a gigantic coon cat too, but he was just big like a medium sized dog. And after all the bullshit they tried to sell me, Purina cat chow kept him going for 16 years too.

Vets are like Dentists, sell you the farm because they don't see you like a doctor, maybe once a year. I've had wonderful cats and dogs for 35 years, and never one who was chronically sick. They lived great lives until the day they died and always died quickly. I have a 11 year old BIG Lab who looks like he's 5, and every time I go to the vet it's "he needs a blood test or he needs this special vitamin. Bullshit. When it's his time it's his time. Blood tests my ass, just another $150 for the Vet.

You just described exactly what they "made" us do! We buy Hills Science Diet Feline RD (only purchaseable through the vets office), feed him once at 8 am and once at 8 pm, and only 1/4 cup at a time! It DID bring his weight down to 15 pounds, but the food is expensive!

60. Purina has a great "indoor" cat food and diet food too
Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 05:40 PM by DainBramaged
The indoor is in the green bag, cuts down on poop size frequency and smell too. People can scream bloody murder about what to feed cats, but turn them loose and they kill mice and birds and frogs and squirrels. All I've fed my babies all these years has been dry food. That includes Miss Coco, Binx, Bosworth, Roscoe, Ditto, Oreo, Levi, Monkey (I forgot, the Monk Man, was 19 pounds and died at the age of 19 in 1989), Tabby, Bert, Cudsworth #1 & #2, Willie, and my most beloved Oscefera, who was 3.5 lbs, could sit on my shoulder for hours, died at 16 and is most terribly missed of them all.

If your cat is more than 10 years old, and even if their teeth fell out they have had a great life, and stuffing money into a vet's pocket, unless it's an emergency, is as useful as throwing it out of your car window. Make me a promise. Take the money from one month's food and send it to DU, and buy kitty a bag of the Purina Indoor. The little bags are expensive (3.5 lbs) but if he likes it, 13 and 20 lbs bags are cheap as hell.

Stick with the stuff that makes your cat happy. not you, because he is ALWAYS going to be big. 15 lbs is BIG for a cat anyway. I wish I had a quick picture of my fatty to post. He would have bit me if I had given him that diet crap.:silly:
