7. Gorgeous - all of you!!
I'll bet the feast was fantastic as well.

I have one question:

I've seen the red stripe before on the parted hair - just what does it signify?

Thanks....

I didn't know that. My familiarity of Indian weddings comes from the Simpsons.

(that's me in the tux)

Now... getting back to this sister of yours, is she single?

32. It's a nice touch.
Just curious, how long did this wedding last? The last one I went to went on for a good 3-4 hours, mainly because of all the recitations the "priest" (brahmin?) had to go through.

I swear, it was like a dissertation set to chanting.

37. I had a similar experience.
After about a half hour, the audience was chattering so loudly that it drowned out the brahmin. But as far as I know, people still stayed for the whole thing.

43. beautiful photos!
I've never seen pictures of an Indian wedding before. I have a friend who got married in Pakistan and she also wore red. I'd much prefer a bride in a color other than white. White is so artifcial and victorian.

46. Indian culture is just so rich and gorgeous...
I just read a translation of the Ramayana last weekend (not the whole thing...it was a slightly abridged version in my world lit. It's such a beautiful story; Rama is far nobler than Odysseus, Beowulf, or a lot of the heroes of Western epics.
