What should we do with this kitty???
We're going to Europe for two weeks next month. We've left Monty and Simba at home with a petsitter coming in before, but this is the first time we'll be leaving Morrissey. He is EXCEEDINGLY attached to us, and Mr. DTBK is worrying that he'll "act out" and destroy the house or become quite depressed while we're gone. Should we ask a cat-loving friend to keep him at their house until we return? Opinions wanted!

Here is the obsessively devoted love bug:

Yes, or a professional cat kennel type of environment.
It is my understanding that some Vets offer this service.

4. A nervous needy cat would hate sitting in a cage for 2 weeks.
Heck, any cat would hate that.

10. We're going to her house Saturday and will ask her
She and her kids have 2 cats of their own, but they ADORE our kitties, too. I think the kids would be thrilled to take care of Morrissey for a couple of weeks. I just don't want to create havoc in her home and stress out her cats!

7. Thanks!
My husband has become so attached to Morrissey - he really didn't want us to adopt a third kitty, but I talked him into it because Morrissey was so cute. Now he's saying he's his favorite cat EVER.

13. Hmm.

Although he will be stressed by you leaving him, I really think he will be twice as stressed by you not just leaving him, but leaving him in a strange new place and in the company of strangers (people and cats).

I think you should leave him at home with the other cats. I think the best course for less stress is to make as FEW changes to his environment and routine as possible.
