Real Estate--Artist Studio Question
It looks as though I may be going into the real Estate Biz. I have acquired some warehouse space, and intend to turn it into seperate rooms/areas to rent as Artist, studio, darkroom spaces, with approx 9 spaces to rent. I am wondering if anyone on the board rents anything like that and if so what the ammenities and or rents may be in other parts of the country.

I will include things like a shared gallery space, bathrooms, WiFi, and utilities.

Does anyone know of other places with things like that?

1. No Info for You but...
...I admire your lofty goals.

(Advertise units as "lofts" ;) )

2. What is your goal?
1. To promote the arts?

2. To make a sound business investment in real estate?

If #1, knock yourself out.

If #2, consult with professionals and determine the best use of the property in your market.

:)

3. hubby does & here in sacto there is a thriving market for artist live...
work, rent space; he requires, of course: access (ability to make material dumps with ease), natural sunlight is preferred & commercial wash & sink area. what will your prices be? he pays $188/mo for a space a little over 700sqft with the above accouterments

4. places in the area
range from shared darkroom space at 85$ per month, to artist spaces 15x20 and thereabouts for 240-300 per month.

188 for 700 sounds low--that come with any utilities or common fees?

5. does include elect, probably is a little low but he knows the guy...
at the cal arts council so that likely figures into it, no common fees; "240 ~ 300 may seem high but if it is self contained w/24hr access would be worth it" this from hubby himself  :hi:
