Why the (bleep) are they called "wisdom teeth?"
When they are positioned in the mouth so damn stupidly?

I get my wisdom teeth pulled this afternoon, and I am *NOT* looking forward to it. :scared:

1. Get the nitrous
and the good painkillers, you will need them.

2. They are going to gas me up and after I get painkillers.
But it's still frightening to me.
I really detest dentists.

5. Good luck at the dentist! Stay calm.
I lucked out and only had the upper wisdom teeth. They were in perfect shape but they had to be pulled because they were growing all the way down to the lower gums where there were no lower wisdom teeth. Two wisdom teeth....does that make me dumb? :silly:

7. Best wishes.
I got an IV plus Novocaine, so I was in a good mood throughout, with nothing that could be called pain. I'd asked the dentist to show be the bits of teeth as he extracted them, and he did.

Afterward, I had a brief bout of nausea on the way home (as a passenger; I was in no shape to drive), and then minor pain for several days. Oh, yeah, the craters left behind in the jaw need to be swooshed out to keep food from collecting there--no biggie.
