Do you take any kind of vitamins or supplements?
I take prenatal vitamins. I'm not expecting, but I am in the process of "trying" so I am taking the vitamins my doc recommended. How about you?

1. Oh ya....
Because of my gastric bypass surgery last year, my body does not absorb nutrients as efficiently as it did before. So I have to be religious about supplements.

I take 2 multi-vitamins, 35 mg of iron sulfate, sublingual B-12, and 1000 mg of calcium.

2. Yes
I take a multi-vitamin, extra folic acid, and extra calcium every day. I eat them with my whole oats oatmeal mixed with milled flax seed for anti-oxidants. I've had the same breakfast every weekday for about three years now.

Good luck getting pregnant! Trying is half the fun!

4. Indeed I do take supplements.......
Every morning, with my breakfast, I take a HUGE time-released multi-vitamin. And since I've been taking it, I have felt better and stronger.......I consider that it is a sort of insurance for me.

I also take glucosamine/chondroitin for my old, achy joints. I wasn't sure that it was doing anything, until I ran out and didn't have it for about a week...Well, let me tell you, at the end of that week, I couldn't wait to get back on them! It really helps me a lot.

I hope that your prenatal vitamins contain fluoride......or that your water does. This is a very important mineral; it will help your baby's teeth and bones from the get-go.

Nice to see you this am!

6. Yeah...all kinds
Ginseng, green tea extract, kelp, grape seed extract, and cinnamon with my morning coffee.

1000 mg of glucophage and 10 mg of glipizide with the first bite of breakfast (I'm diabetic, Type II). Also a diuretic for Meneire's Syndrome (inner ear fluid imbalance).

Multivitamin (or a megadose of B's, C's, E and zinc) also, and usually 100-200 mg of Coenzyme Q10 after eating, breakfast or lunch.

Chromium picolinate and alpha-lipoic acid -- again to help control blood glucose -- with each meal. More glucophage at the evening meal, and 1000 mg of calcium citrate with a combo of magnesium/vitanin D/boron a couple hours after eating, near bedtime.

I usually have a vitamin-fortified cereal like Total or a protein shake which has added vitamins for breakfast, a salad at lunch and a significant evening meal (something healthy like salmon with broccoli or grilled chicken and vegetables).

I spend probably about $150 a month on vitamins, herbs, and other supplements.

Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 10:06 AM by supernova
I take these every morning with my white tea:

Multivitamin
500 mg Calcium
800 mg of Fish oil omega 3 concentrate (edit: it's the biggest one -- bigger than the calcium! -- and I sometimes don't get it down before it starts disolving. Blech! :P )

8. I take many
Liquid minerals, extra calicum, Prenatal (have been taking them for quite some time, since before my miscarriage 4-1/2 months ago,) an herbal mixture for cleansing the blood, and Greens First (has 10 servings of veggies in one scoop.) I take this every morning.
Good luck on the "trying!" My husband and I have been trying since a month after the miscarriage and just found out this past Friday that I was indeed pregnant!!! When you least expect it, it will happen!!!

10. Yay for y'all! Congrats!
I had an ectopic pregnancy last year and we had to wait at least 6 months before we could try again. I'm nervous, but hopeful! Good luck to y'all! :bounce:

15. You're lucky to have had that time. Sometimes I wish we'd had that.
But it wasn't meant to be: My hubby and I had been engaged for six months when I suddenly got pregnant, even though we'd been VERY careful. We had to move the wedding date up cuz I didn't wanna walk down the aisle at 9mos pregnant. I was actually 4 mos pregnant when we got married. Became a wife and a mother within 5 mos. of each other! Whew.

But it was, like I said, obviously meant to be. We believe our son, Jasper, decided to come on in as soon as he saw we'd finally found each other. He didn't want to wait! We incorporated his energy into our wedding ceremony by lighting a special candle that represented his life force. It was very cool.

His 12th bd is in a couple of weeks.

Creating and raising a child together with your partner is one of Life's greatest blessings. I am happy for you both.

I send you blessings of Fertility, Abundance and Joy!

17. I take a multi, a b supplement, an iron pill and a c.
The multi just because it's a good idea, the b for the energy to keep up with my son, the iron because I donate blood and the c to help absorb the iron.
