What is it with BOYS?? An amusing story.... |
|
:eyes:
So my soon-to-be 12 yr old son was obsessed yesterday with decorating the outside of our house in the most goulish way possible. He took a Darth Vader head mask thing, an extra set of his clothes and shoes, and filled them, to make it look like it was a DEAD BODY laying next to our front door. Then he wrote a sign saying, "This is what happened to the last trick or treater! BEWARE." He has this funny fake severed bloody hand, complete with the bone sticking out, laying next to the "dead body", along with a creepy-looking 3 ft. rubber snake....
Now keep in mind we've got peace flags all over the place outside, buddha statues, a kwan yin statue, peace ribbons hanging from our front tree....ya know, generally a PEACEFUL vibe...but my kid is absolutely thrilled to make our house look like a murder scene. What's up with that?!
I guess I just have to laugh. It comes with the territory, I suppose. I never had a brother, so sometimes I just feel clueless about the whole boy thang...
Is this "normal"? ;)

fairly harmless way.
I don't have to be worried, then....right? ;)

12 huh? Wait till he starts into the serious physical risk taking.
Alright Guys... how many of YOU hung on to the bumper of a car as it pulled you across some ice?

The bumpers nowadays are not good handles.

20. You were pulled across ice? Wow, we just were pulled across pavement |
|
When skateboards first came out, it was all the rage to grab onto a bumper and hang on for dear life. And a real pain on the turns. Got my fair share of road rash doing that, but it was still a blast.
And yes, this is normal for a twelve year old boy. The male of the species tends to go through a period of being absolutely fascinated with blood and gore and horror, adrenaline junky stuff. Generally we outgrow it.
