Cell Phone service in Florida right now? |
|
Thoughts are with the DU Floridians and those who have friends and family there today. Our son lives in Davie (Broward County) and we've been out of touch since 10 am this morning AND he doesn't have a land line!
Would the cell sevice be down? Just trying not to worry too much, last touch, his house and yard were taking a beating :(
Thanks for your help :hi:

2. The cell phone towers could be down - |
|
Katrina affected the cell phone service to the Coast for weeks. Actually, it is still screwy.
I hope you hear from your son soon.

5. He'll be a very busy man for awhile. |
|
One of the biggest problems they ran into during & after Katrina dealt with communications. Now the intend to get satelitte phones, the cell phones don't cut it when the towers go down.
Sending out positive energies and prayers for you and yours (and all that have to deal with Wilma). :grouphug: :loveya:

3. Shouldn't be down, but might be all jammed up. |
|
Especially in emergency situations. Might also be blocking civillian traffic to keep it open for emergency stuff. They did that here in Tampa last year.

Whew, forgot about the emergency cell system, and we know FEMA is really stepping up this time. Thanks sweetie, as a MOM, I'm sure my Ranger Danger (position is classified) son forgot to charge his satellite phone then??? How could he!?! Ah, married w/twin toddlers in "lock-up".
Thanks again....I'm sure his family is fine, I'm launching Thurs for Ft La-La anyhow :)
