Poll question: Best Ray Harryhausen film?
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 07:11 AM by ChavezSpeakstheTruth
I saw someone post that Clash of the Titans is a terrible movie they still watch and I recoiled in horror. TERRIBLE? The mighty Harryhausen has never touched anything that may be deemed "terrible"! For shame!

Anyway I vote for the 7th Voyage of Sinbad!

1. Jason and the Argonauts. Without question.

The special effects were amazing and the story (it's classical Greek mythology, after all) was wonderful.

Harryhausen's best.

9. Fuck the special effects
Regardless of how good they are. 'Jason And The Argonauts' was a MAJOR gay awakening for me. That film, and Tallulah Bankhead, was all it took. And Billy, in fourth period gym.

2. Clash of the Titans by an eyelash.
I love Jason, but seeing Clash so many times during my adolescent years, kind of grew on me.

5. for me it's a three-way tie in Other
20 Million Miles to Earth
Earth Vs the Flying Saucers
It Came from Beneath the Sea

While I love Jason and Argonauts and the Sinbad films (even the crappy one with John Philip Law as Sinbad) his B/W Science Fiction epics are my favorite.

I also love his sequence in Mighty Joe Young (Drunk Joe in the cage).

10. "Clash" is an abomination to Greek mythology.
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 10:21 AM by Beware the Beast Man
Even the title alone is indicative of that. For fuckssakes, the gods in the film are Olympians, not Titans.

Still, great effects, especially Medusa.
