1. Have to go with needing to pee
Although lack of good reading material in the car would run a close second.

3. Life in DC
Taught me early on to NEVER, EVER get in the car without going to the bathroom. Shortly after moving here, one night I was going to take a trip to the pharmacy, about 2 miles away. It took more than two hours: The Beltway had been closed because of a hazmat spill into a creek, and all of the roads near my apartment were where the overflow traffic was being directed. Add to that a big concert at George Mason University (where much of the traffic was headed) and I was fucked.

And don't even get me started about Tysons Corner at Christmastime.

But as to your second point: That's why I ALWAYS have a book or magazine in my purse.

2. Guy in front of you has turn signal on
Friends of mine went to the first Lollapalooza and while they were waiting to leave a guy came up to their window "Would you PLEASE turn off your turn signal!?!?!" turned around and walked back to his car.

9. For sure
one time I was driving on the 101 from san jose towards gilroy... there was an overturned gas truck (!) and the freeway was down to one lane.

Cars were dying left and right, and my car had the gas light on for the last half hour. (!)
