anyone else think life would be more fun if it were a musical
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 08:58 AM by Devra
you'd be at work and people would be acting normaly then sudenly everyone would start singing and danceing for 20 minet then they would just continue doing thier work as if nothing happened. I think that would be cool. (and no I am not high)

1. That... That... Makes me want to...
SING!

Music: Frank Churchill; Lyrics: Larry Morey; featured in Disney's "Snow White".
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
Put on that grin and start right in
to whistle loud and long
Just hum a merry tune (hum)
Just do your best and take a rest
and sing your self a song

When there's too much to do
Don't let it bother you, forget your troubles,
Try to be just like a cheerful chick-a-dee

And whistle while you work (whistle)
Come on get smart, tune up and start
to whistle while you work

(Official Version)
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place
So hum a merry tune (hum)
It won't take long when there's a song
to help you set the place

And as you sweep the room
Imagine that the broom
is someone that you love
And soon you'll find you're dancing to the tune

(Spoken): Oh, no, no, no, no! Put them in the tub)
When hearts are high the time will fly
So whistle while you work

2. HELL yes!
That would be so much fun. Kinda like the scene in "The Fisher King" (is that where it was?) where everyone starts dancing in the big train station. Or like "Beyond the Sea." Very fun.

4. All I can think of the scene in the Holy Grail (Monty Python)
Where the prince starts to sing and the guy (I think his father) keeps cutting him off.

3. I have often wished my life was the the Blues Brothers movie
At any moment you can start singing, and the band (who follow you everywhere) will pull their instruments from nowhere and start playing, and everyone in the area will start doing backing vocals and dancing in tightly choreographed fashion as appropriate. This will happen several times a day.

6. Yes! I totally agree.
Like that episode of "Buffy!" Please, invoke the singing demon and we'll all prance around in a musical!

Until we dance ourselves to death. uh oh, guess there's a catch. :)

7. the best part is
you would have to worry about getting a song stuck in your head because you would just sing it.

8. I had some friends who were in Show Choir in high school.
They got someone in charge of the music at the mall to suddenly, at a certain point, put in a tape that they had made and begin playing it at full volume. Two of them were seated on a bench, and when the music started, the guy started singing about how much he loved the girl. She started singing back to him, and then they started to dance. Then, from out of nowhere, about fifteen "shoppers" (all Show Choir members, of course) came out of various nearby stores and joined in the song and dance. Then, when the song ended, the guy and girl walked off hand in hand, and the "shoppers" went back to their shopping, as if nothing at all had happened.

My friends said that the reaction was a mixture of stunned silence, nervous laughter, and appreciative applause.

18. Nope, I'll vote to keep Kinkade
At least I can keep him away from me.

If it were a musical world, there would be no escape.

20. It's like watching a musical
you can always goto the fridge or the bathroom when a song and dance comes on. Except in the musical world, there would have to be some routines around the stalls.

I do not understand your objection. My old girlfried was kinda bored with a dance routine in an old movie she liked, and she said "I don't know why they included so many dance scenes." I could not say it, and did not really watch the movie, but the actress was very attractive, and I have no problem watching her dance.

After all, how much escape do you have if your office mates decide to decorate their cubicles with Kinkade, or put some in the lobby or hallways where you work?

21. Kinkade is only visual and line of sight, and thus easily escaped
People running around dancing and falling into song constantly is NOT escapable; it's sound, so it travels - you can't just turn away and not hear it.

Even if one runs to the bathroom, one could probably still hear it.

23. so carry your own ipod
Come on, there's gotta be something that would make a trade-off. Slow drivers in the left lane? Bill O'Reilly? Walter O'Reilly? A couple dance scenes a day are going to ruin your life, and nothing can compensate for it? I can see that if they are doing the chicken dance or the boot scoot boogie, but you cannot handle any song and dance number? Or any happy song?

25. I despise happy music, for the most part, and truly abhor the musical
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 08:51 PM by Rabrrrrrr
The only thing worse than having to listen to musicals would be to have to live in an entire world that is a constant musical.

There would proabbly be no deeper hell for me.

Now, if life were to be through-sung in an operatic style, with ballet and serious dancing (if dancing must be required), THAT I could deal with.

14. I do that when I'm teaching my son...
If he gets in a snit about doing his work, we make up a song and dance routine. It puts him in better humor.

so they could steal my stapler.

Did you ever see the Tracy Ullman skit where they did "The Lion Sleeps tonight"?

19. It is...the problem is...
most people don't get up early and show up for the morning dance rehearsals. Makes it harder to break into song.
