1. Did you stop your post in mid-thought? |
|
:D
Are you asking if anyone has had a bush-type republican for a roommate, currently or in the past?

5. either one a bush fan from past or present |

I had one last year. the most annoying thing was she really didn't care about politics. She didn't have a real reason. "I just like him" she would say.
I still remember the time I came back to my dorm to discover she put a bush Cheney poster on the wall.
I immediately tried to find a Kerry poster. to balance the room out. and although I felt weird literally bringing politics into the bedroom. (I did sleep there) I couldn't have a Bush Cheney sign stay there uncontested.
the story of how I got the Kerry poster is actually pretty funny though

13. I've never had a Bushie roommate |
|
but one of my good friends is Repub. and he has this stupid Bush/Cheney yard sign that he hangs on his closet doors in his dorm room.
The fun thing to do is steal it...at one point, I had it hanging upside down in my window facing the parking lot for about 2 weeks and he had no idea where it was.
Another time, I folded it and put water on it (the sign is plastic) and hid it in my freezer, then I gave it back to him as a solid chunk.
It's like a game of capture the flag..I'm gonna have to steal it again soon.

well I figured it was on her side of the room and she has the right to have it there.
I did manage to get a Kerry sign though.
I contacted every one I could think of. I finally got one from the college Dems president. She lived on the other side of campus and it was getting dark and I didn't want to waste another day trying to get it so I called Public safety for an escort.
While this was going on there was an outspoken conservative in my "social and political philosophy class" and as fate would have he was my escort.
Ok this is awkward I thought to myself. as we passed Smith hall a crowd of people with Bush/Cheney signs pored out into the street.
"I guess a college republicans meeting just let out." I said "I thought they had meetings on thursday's" he replied "well I can't think of any other reason why all these people with Bush/Cheney signs are here" "I guess you're right" I should go to one of those meetings some time" he said
At this point I realize that I might as well tell him I'm getting a Kerry sign because he is sure to notice when I come back with it.
so I say "Actually, I'm on my way to get a Kerry sign. You probably guessed by my comments in class that I'm a liberal (I was outspoken too ;-) )" "I understand" there's a lot of people like you on campus"
It was weird

Yeah, having your own sign on your side of the room works. :) I only mess w/ this guy's sign cause we're friends and I don't live with him, plus I don't ruin it, he always gets it back.
My roommate last year was an "independent" but she enjoyed making "devil's advocate arguments"..it was the most annoying thing ever. If we're going to debate--how about we debate what you believe vs. what I believe...not whatever lame counterargument you can come up with. That was all during election season, so it was kind of hard to avoid a discussion of politics.. I tried to convince her to vote for Kerry, but who knows who she voted for, she was undecided up until the point she pencilled it in.

8. I worked in a sci-fi/comic shop for a while, and |
|
we had the usual array of geeks, misfits and socially inept oddballs as customers, but the only people that ever freaked me out were the furry crowd (a/k/a skunkf@#$ers). That is just weird!
