It seems that the mods have a plan underway to split the Lounge into two separate forums:

The Lounge forum will be renamed Lounge: Pictures of Cats, and in that forum we will only permit threads with pictures of cats. A new Lounge forum will be created, Lounge: Not Pictures of Cats, and in that forum we will NOT permit any threads with pictures of cats.

Of course, it goes without saying, that when you click "Post" or "Poll" in either Lounge forum, there will be an automatic interrupt page directing you to post your topic in the correct forum.

... members' freedom to create copycat threads in the Lounge, but only somewhat. Any copycat threads in Lounge: Pictures of Cats would indeed need to include at least one picture of cats, or would be removed to the other forum.

Freedom to copycat would still be generally unrestricted in Lounge: Not Pictures of Cats, as long as a copycat thread did not include any pictures of cats, but then, ALL threads in the Lounge:NPC forum have to abide by those same rules, so it adds no extra restrictions. We are already used to the "no sex threads" rule, and expect it to be applied to copycat threads as much as to any others.

Or can we post them in 'Not Pictures of Cats?' What if it a picture of cats with dogs? where will we post those?

should go in Lounge: Not Pictures of Cats. Any cat pictures including other things are of course still pictures of cats, so they would logically find their place in Lounge: Pictures of Cats. It's quite simple really.

At first, I would say that your post there would clearly belong in Lounge: Pictures of Cats (once the split actually occurs.) On the other hand, your cat picture is not really a cat picture, but a cat cartoon, which would lead me to guess that it belongs instead in Lounge: Not Pictures of Cats. On the third hand, it is a VERY REALISTIC cartoon of a cat...

I guess we'll just have to wait for the mods and admins to weigh in on close questions like this one...

But you got the details wrong: it will be split in three parts - pictures of cats, no pictures of cats, and pictures of yourself.

Mass confusion will result - what if you want to post a picture of yourself with a cat? Or without a cat? Where do you post?

But, of course, you won't be able to post anyway because of the interrupt page.
