so, who play Joe and Valerie in the movie?
I just had my journalism class watch "All the President's Men" today and was thinking, when they make "All the President's Leakers," who will be cast as Wilson and Plame? Here they are:

1. Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman.
The blonde Kidman, of course.

2. Hanks sounds good; Kidman not quite the right look.....
maybe Blythe Danner?

5. Wait, we can time travel?
Because I think Blythe would have to have been cast as she was 10 or 15 years ago to be Hanks' SO. So if no time travel is allowed, how about Gwyneth Paltro, Blythe's daughter?

If time travel is allowed, I'd cast Kahterine Hepburn (circa 1940) and Gregory Peck (circa 1956)!

7. if we can travel back... we can travel forward!
so let's have Reese Witherspoon +15 years in the casting mix.

13. Agreed, I don't want anorexic Kidman a la "Stepford Wives."
But I'm thinking "Far and Away" Kidman (Kidman with some healthy weight on her and fiery heroine) with a warmer shade of blonde, just shy of sandy-haired maybe.

16. You use Kevin for Wilson,
and for the first time in history, the moviestar will have LESS hair than the REAL PERSON he is playing!

17. Cybil Shepard is inspired casting.
But I can't go along with Costner at this stage of his career. Also, he's too much of a pretty-boy. Joe needs to be gritter, imo.

Especially at the community college level, where administrators aren't yet playing the fascist censor role like they are with high-school J programs. :grr:

11. For Joe Wilson
For Mr. Wilson, I would choose George Clooney.

For Valerie Plame, Angelina Jolie would be fine. Gwyneth Paltrow wouldn't be bad

14. Oooh, I LIKE your pick of George Clooney!
Old enough to have an air of authority about him, and handsome and sexy enough too!

Not sure about Jolie or Paltrow. I'm still thinking on this one.

15. I was thinking Clooney,
but then I thought he was too good looking. I wanted more of a guy-next-door Joe, so I chose Tom Hanks (above).

18. I guess that could work, but I think Joe Wilson has just a bit
of an "edge" to him that I think Clooney could pull off better than Hanks (nothing against Hanks, though -- I love his acting!).

20. Clooney does have an intensity about him
Hanks is a great actor, but Clooney has a screen presence.

That's for all you SATC fans.

Or maybe Joe Mantegna and Amy Madigan.

On edit: I insist on casting someone who isn't in their 20s or 30s. These are career government employees, for crying out loud.

Also, I don't give a rat's ass about the A-list. Just pick someone good.

23. Fun question. I think Valerie Wilson looks a lot like Sharon Stone...
especially the smile. I'm still trying to come up with a Joe Wilson look-a-like. Maybe a younger Gene Hackman?

I don't like either of them, and if they DO cast it like that, I won't go see it. So here's hoping I suck at casting movies.
