Only thing I don't like about being relatively short is that "petite" clothes generally cost more and there's a limited selection. Also, in stores here the petite clothes seem very dull and Junior size clothes are too young for me. I really don't feel short though even when around tall people.

39. Glad I'm not the only one

hoping I'm tall in my next life! I don't feel short when I'm talking to tall people, but shortness and overall smallness (hands, feet, etc.) create plenty of problems. Can't reach anything, my little monkey paws can hold nothing more than about two walnuts, have the driver's seat in my car all the way up (and pray I never get killed by an air bag, since I'm the size of a child). I didn't much care for my former (asshole) neighbor trying to intimidate me by getting his 6'2" hulk in my face, either. I didn't back up, though!

"We're not petite, we're short!" I cracked up when I heard that. I just spent a week with her, while we both were lamenting the clothing styles each of us couldn't wear. I'm 5'7" and I always thought I was an Amazon, in the back row of my class pictures.

My wife is petite and she has a nice curvy figure (not overweight according to the charts mind you) but a real woman with a real figure thank you.

God bless short curvy sexy woman. BTW, it is a common complex for some short ladies so I will say it now -- you can wear skirts and dresses -- they are not just for tall ladies, go for it if you want to.

And what I hate most about petite sizes is the ludicrous assumption that every single short woman is also short waisted. I'm long waisted, which means dresses simply don't fit correctly because the waiste is in the wrong place. Idiot manufacturers. And why do so many chain stores only carry regular or long length in pants? We shorties are not that uncommon.

I'm very long-legged for my height (I wear nearly the same inseam as my husband, who's a foot taller than I am!), and so shortwaisted that my hipbones pretty much touch my lowest ribs. Thank goodness for low-rise pants - they're the only ones that don't come up to my boobs.

I can't wear petite pants; they're actually too short. I have long arms, too, so I can only wear petite tops if they're short-sleeved.

She was gorgeous, sweet and funny, and didn't care about the disparity in our heights. She did joke once, when we were out in public, that she felt "as though I should buy her a balloon."
