What does it mean when a college Republican you verbally ass-whipped
over Iraq is now über-nice to you?

Should I be scared? :scared:

7. Guess it all depends on what he's saying now to you
Politically speaking.

Sometimes, it takes a beat down (verbally, of course) to open those eyes.

Think positively, but maybe don't turn your back on him for a while, just to be sure.

9. He didn't say anything political today,
but we play video games together pretty regularly, so it's sure to come up again.

8. I was pretty merciless.
He progressed from spewing Rovian talking points to calling me a pussy and a little girl (a sure sign he's cracking) to "what are you talking about?" to agreeing to look up the Plame investigation (don't know if he'll actually do it). I think I might have scared him (}(), considering I kept out of the conversation until it was clear that my friend, who was arguing that we should not be there, was flailing up there and outnumbered three to one.

11. Haha...
I never encounter people like that. It's such a different vibe in political discussions up here. Like in my political ideology class, we were talking about Katrina and we were all (incuding my professor) giving Bush and his cronies a pretty rough going over. My professor stopped for a second just to try and coax a pro-Bush viewpoint out of anyone in the class, with no luck.

12. This wasn't even in class...
it was in my dorm over a game of Halo 2!

My classes tend to be Bush-bashing fests, and I'm usually one of the more reserved types, which should tell you something about where my profs stand!

14. Haha, see, even in casual situations, if politics comes up...

Most of the people I know lean to the left, and if some don't, they've never made it known.

A few of my family members (like my mom) tilt to the right, but I keep them in check, haha.

15. Most of my close friends lean left (of course),
but they're not as political as me, so they have friends who could be Bushbots. I think my dorm is more conservative than some of the others, since it houses a lot of commerce and business students.

Funny thing is, in the class I mentioned, I was actually the one who had to hold my prof back from going on an anti-Bush rant since we were running out of class time and I'd promised a sick friend I'd bring her oatmeal! :D
