Any MMORPG Gamers in DU Land?
I just wanted to see if there were others, or if I am the only one.

Any disabled gamers out there?

Love ya all!

Ioo

5. Secondlife...
not really a "role playing game." more like Snow Crash's Metaverse.

17. yeah, that's why we chose this one
My husband used to build models as a hobby, now he builds in Second Life. Full size "models" and the building materials are free! Between the camera zoom, his large monitor, and a magnifying glass he can see well enough to build, despite his low vision.

I don't build much, I'm more of an avatar addict. :D But taking scripting lessons from Squagmire.

9. You know, I thought that too
but I joined up with Knight Online (Cypher2 server) and I usually can't spend more than two hours a day in front of it cause it just gets so tedious after a while.

11. Yeah, World of warcraft
I got a rogue up to level 49 before i got sick and tired of it. So now I'm trying out a hunter, those first 10 levels before you get your pet are really slow and boring.

20. I'm a recovering EQ and DAOC player.
EQ was the worst. I had like a lvl 36ish Druid, never got down the fast leveling(kiting) with a druid so thats as high as he went. Having to do a corpse run is what I imagine being in hell is like. I played this thing basically every evening for 2 hours, then several hours on Sat/Sun. My wife hated it.

I dropped it and went to DAOC which I played for a year and got a theurgist to lvl 50. I did better with this one played just 3 evenings(joined a gym) a week for a couple hours, plus some on and off on the weekends.

Both of those games just absolutely suck away your life. I remember hitting lvl 50 and I did a play time command. I had something like 23 days.. thats real time days worth of playing. Reading that at 1am was about enough for me I quit soon after because of the embarrassment of all that wasted time and my son being born soon. Kept the gym membership though and have been 'leveling' there for over 3 years. I do miss the community though I had some pretty good friends in those games.

Moved to countersrike(something I could play a bit and stop fast - much better for kids). Now I have a carpal tunnelish type issue and so except for programming(job) I say off the PC for gaming. I've bought a playstation 2 and am renting games for it through gamefly.com. I can play and get off it fairly quickly and its easier on the wrists.

With twins on the way I expect I will just stay with console gaming an hour here and there were I can it wont be much for awhile. Besides console gaming is much cheaper for me then upgrading, and completely rebuilding a PC every three years. I'd be due for a rebuild right now if I still played on the PC.
