Who's the biggest "winner" you ever met in your life?
Here's a guy that lived next door for 6 years with no father and a welfare mother. She now teaches high school English, and he is the Leading Scorer in the entire Country among Division 1A teams. He also had a 4.0 (straight A) average in high school academics.

He's a special guy.

I wanted his autograph when he was a skinny kid, but he was too embarrassed.

Go Lobos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's the biggest winner you ever met? Just somebody that did well in their life that you weren't too sure of?

1. Well, I have a couple...
A friend in NEw Brunswick was a real wild child irresponsible and all..she had a bad car accident and that steamed her to turned around her life...now she's married to a very nice guy and works as a full time nurse.

Then there's my friend's ex-girlfriend. Her mother was a coke head at age 16 she was supporting her mom and her mom's habit. Now she has moved out doesn't touch drugs herself and makes good money as a waitress at an upscale downtown pub and is starting school to become a pilot.

Then there is my dad ...cheese alert... He grew up poor, in fact he moved 23 times before age 17 his dad would come home and say "I've sold the house" He says he's lived in places with cardboard walls. Not that my grandpa was a loser...he was an amazing man. ANyway, my dad manage to finish high-school a year early, put himself through some university and now owns his own business and is an elected official and respected member of my city.

2. Oh yeah
put your Pop on the list (and don't hop on him too much)!

Story #2 I would guess has the mom's habit continuing, but still a great story of overcoming potential disaster.

Also, we need many more nurses in this country. Caring and understanding, as it sounds she is.

4. My maternal grandfather
was born in a village in Latvia in 1884.

It's a long story, but he ended up as an attorney and a high school teacher in Minneapolis.
