6. I was still hoping for Konerko to smash one to their seats, splashing Coke |
|
and nachos up into their faces, to be replayed hourly on Sports Center. (cue the muted trumpet "wah wah wah waaaaah" sound effect)

That is priceless...I just wish it was because it's Fitzmas, not because the 'Stros got swept.

Still, this has to be the closest sweep in history, with every game a bonified baseball gem.

So far we're the only ones who are actually feeling the power of the sweep. ;-)
Mostly in the form of guns being shot into the air, fireworks and drunken Sox fans. Can't wait for the climax, probably sometime around 4:00AM, after the bars close. :eyes:

Sounds like a long-desired championship to me.
As a Red Sox fan.

He really wanted to go outside to pee last night. Silly me, I didn't want him to get hit by a stray bullet while he was doing what he had to do.
The boom-boom noises stopped around 4:30 or so. Or at least that's the last time I looked at the clock after hearing what sounded like a half stick of dynamite going off next to my bedroom window. :wow:

Or did it all start with the inequality of the American League? Chisox started with a sweep of the Bosox on Oct. 7. Houston needed 4 games to beat Atlanta, including an 18 inning game on Oct. 9. The Angels did not eliminate the Yankees until Oct. 10. Then quickly fell 4-1 to Chicago by Oct. 16. The Astros, on the other hand, finally eliminated St. Louis, the team with the best record in baseball btw, on Oct. 19 and then played on the road on Oct. 22. So, before they met, Chicago had played 8 games, had six days of rest, and did not have to travel. Houston, on the other hand, had only three days of rest, had to travel, and had played 11 games prior to meeting the Sox. Gotta like those odds if you are a Sox/AL fan.

I always root for the AL teams. Even was pulling a tad for the Red Sox last year. They needed to be put out of their misery sooner or later! :hi:
