I'm back inside. I'm soaking wet, my hair smells like beer and I lost my voice...AND I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!!!!

Outside my dorm, there was a riot of sorts, people jumping around, cheering, banging on upturned water jugs. The cops ended up moving in and dispersing the crowd, but it was great fun for an hour or so. If it's like this downtown, imagine what's going down on the Southside!

I would like to thank the Houston Astros for making my first year that I gave shit about baseball a great one. Every game of this series was a nail-biter. We pulled it out! Remember, there's no shame in losing to the best!

Your first one when you are awakened to baseball is the sweetest one. Be it 1977 or 2000, or 2004 and 2005 for you long suffering Sox fans. How appropriate, the Sox of two colors win in back to back years.

After the Red Sox lost in game 7 in 2003, my friend and I practically cried. Didn't come out of a funk for a week. 'Till that happened, I wasn't really a Red Sox fan. I realize that now.

That's what they used to sing at Comiskey (it was still called that the one time I went, late '80s) after a Sox homer cleared the fence.

The band Steam who performed the song hail from Bridgeport, Conn., while Comiskey and its successor I-Don't-Give-A-Damn-What-They-Call-It-It's-The Home-Of-The-World-Champs Field are located in the Chi-town neighborhood called Bridgeport, named for reasons lost to history after the Park City. Cosmic!

And to Poppy, Bar, Neil, Tom DeLay, Ken Lay, Jeff Skilling et al. (it was starting to look like the Repuke Oscars out there!), I say once again:
