Would you think this is harrassment?

A friend of mine's husband got arrested over the weekend for an unpaid traffic fine. She had to pay $500 cash bail to get him out (none of the bail bond places would bond for only a $500 bail.)

If you don't do something about a ticket, they think you're a scofflaw.

I've no idea about the bail bond thing though.

They are getting a lawyer...

I think it is kind of odd, however, wasting the court's time and money with traffic violations when there is real crime out there.

3. two things.

it's about law, not justice. There is a whole traffic court system set up just for traffic cases, and it's probably a money maker. Violent crime probably doesn't earn as much for the state.

Besides, when a person gets arrested, they get fingerprinted, and maybe running the prints reveals the person to be an unknown serial killer.
