14. That sounds delicious
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 03:59 PM by Tyrone Slothrop
I usually just have it on a bagel, but I recently found smoked salmon ravioli at the specialty foods store I shop at.

Haven't gotten any yet, though. I need to figure out a good complement for the sauce/ingredients first.

On edit: I'm thinking maybe a vodka sauce with snow pea pods, black olives and goat cheese crumbles. Unless anyone has any better suggestions, hmmm???

26. Nothing too fancy cause I like to taste the salmon
Rye bread, a little butter, some lime, fresh ground pepper. Parsley dill or chopped onion is also good.

27. Eat it with?
I eat salmon like an orca. It doesn't have time to be accompanied with anything!

(but my favorite is cream cheese, lox and a whole wheat bagel).

32. I cook salmon in the broiler
5 or 6 minutes on each side, on top of aluminum foil. Comes out awesome.

Parmesan cheese on salmon? That's like covering the Playmate of the Year with dog shit.

34. I don't like the chunky smoked salmon
You know -- the kind with the tuna texture -- but I LOVE nova lox and gravlax. Homemade gravlax is the A-1 best, on a garlic bagel with plain cream cheese.

My MIL makes this appetizer out of nova lox that will get you laid/promoted/invited back if you're to bring it to a social function. And there's no cooking involved. Here's how you make it:

Ingredients:

Potato Lefsa
Lox cream cheese
Nova Lox
Cilantro

Take the lefsa, and lay it out -- it's a giant circle, and cut it into strips that are about 2.5 to 3 inches wide. Then, cut the strips into thirds -- or halves, depending on how you like your lefsa-to-filling ratio. Then, spread one side of the lefsa with the lox cream cheese, hit it with a chunk of lox, and a couple little sprigs of cilantro, trimmed to the same width as the roll, and roll the little sucker up. Make 40 or so of them. Sneak about five, when you're making them. Take them to a party. Reap the social benefits.
