Most underrated singers (vocally) |
|
My choices:
Bob Dylan - sounds fresh when compared to other voices. Plus, it's expressive.
Madonna - not the strongest voice, but very pure and soothing.
Avril Lavigne - great punk-pop voice IMO. Influenced in style by male punk-poppers, but more unique than many male punk-poppers (who often sound alike)
Alanis Morissette - acquired taste that I love
Phil Collins - more sentimental than sappy IMO

2. Jessica Simpson. No, really! |
|
I'll be the first one to say that she's a trashy, brainless moron who appeals to the Nascar class in America today. But she really has a good voice. She's very naturally gifted and it's a shame that she has chosen to waste it on stupid pop crap.
And she's much, much more talented than her husband, and he knows it (which is probably some of the source of their marriage problems).

3. I'm not going to berate you |

For this is a topic where you can get your frustration at the negativity out. :-)
I like pop, but not the type of songs Jessica does.

She really CAN sing, she just chooses to sing really shitty stuff.

18. I would think the source of their problems stems |
|
from the gargantuan size that her head has gotten. He has a great voice. Her voice is okay, but they way she uses it grates on my nerves and her facial expressions she uses while singing is nauseating. Having said that, she is gorgeous and has a decent voice. JMO!

15. Yeah, same with Celine Dion |
|
Celine Dion has an even more powerful voice, but she doesn't control it well. Celine's nice in small doses.

|
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 02:37 PM by realisticphish
i hate her music, and her style, but she has a great voice. if she went to a more traditional rock style, and not pop-punk, she'd be great
And, shes hot

Her music is one thing I find unfairly bashed, too. Very hooky with attitude.

i know my opinions are only that, opinions. but it just pains me to see what she plays labeled punk, when it is pop. hey, theres nothing wrong with pop, but punk? c'mon, the sex pistols, or avril lavigne ;)
Anyway, in general i just don't like her style
edit: also, perhaps "hate" was too strong a word

i'm sure you hate some of my bands
and, i was referring to clothing style, as well as music. the pop music is fine, but i dont like the pseudo-goth/rebel makeup/clothes. then again, since my wardrobe consists entirely of t-shirts and jeans, maybe i'm not the best judge of style

Music and style are very subjective. IMO that's why music reviews seem to be so varied. :hi:

She doesn't have a strong voice, but she is a superb stylist in what she does with it. Much intelligence behind the voice

25. Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin |
|
Horrible voices, but their songs are poetic, intelligent and emotion driven.
I love both of these guys. I own all their albums.
