I am SOOOOO proud of my youngest brother!! |
|
He had problems for years with drugs and alcohol. Stopped the drugs some time back, then quit the alcohol. A week or so ago, he drank some beer after work, while he was still at the shop, and apparently got pretty sloshed. At least he still had the presence of mind to not drive; he walked home. It was raining, but he walked. Now he is going to an AA meeting every day, and says he will go to 3 a day if he needs to. He said, "I have good credit, I have my license back, I have a truck, I own a house, and I have a good woman. Nothing is worth giving those up."
I am just so proud of him -- he really has come a long way from where he was!
 (Happy tears)

EVERYBODY FALLS SOMETIMES......
It's not if you fall, it's when.......
And now he knows what he must do......
And he's doing it.....GOOD for him!
I'd be proud as well......

He was going down such a bad road at one time in his life, to see him get straightened out (and then going at it again when he faltered) just makes me feel so damned good!

He's had a rough road, but turned it around. I'm so happy that he recognized right away he was in trouble, what he had to lose, and that he decided immediately to do something about it.

7. Watch out for those AA people. |
|
It's a cult. They take a perfectly ordinary drunk or addict, and turn them into caring responsible human. One of the signs to look for is if, when you look into your brothers eyes, it looks like someone's home and listening. Never a good sign. Get him out now.:scared: :scared: :scared: :P

11. Yes, as it happens, Reverend Moon. |
|
I've heard of several farmers in the middle east that grow flowers(poppies?) that will show him a whole new life. I think it's a work study thing. Then there's the south american work study programs too. Anythings better than AA.
