Poll question: Worst American Beer
I am a recovering alcohol (356 days). I've had my share of beer. But the list is for the crappest. I know Butt-wiper, Boosh, Miller and Coors suck donkey nuts, but this is for the bottom of the barrel.

Nor does it include beers exclusively in 40 oz. bottles. Those are just puke inducing.

Sadly, the imports are the best. . .unless you like Hardcore (I loved Hard Cider).

My vote goes to Bud Lite, which is little more than scared water.

24. SF board of supes disagrees!
I can handle Steel Reserve, though if I wanted a beer as strong as a wine I would prefer Eye of the Hawk from the Mendocino Brewing Co.

However, a lot of people can't handle their Steel Reserve, or their Taaka vodka. according to the following article:

2. Three horrible brands
that used to be sold around Minnesota and Wisconsin

Hauenstein, Pfeiffer and Fox DeLuxe, in ascending order of horribleness. Fox DeLuxe ($2.99/case back in the late 1970s) had a sickly sweet aroma like a dead mouse decaying in the wall. Absolutely horrendous, but if you were a broke teenager, you drank it if you couldn't get anything else. By comparison, Hauies and Pfeiffer actually tasted like beer. BAD beer, but beer.

How about the infamous Heidelburg? (Spelled that way because the city in Germany and the printing press manufacturing company both threatened to sue over perceived damage to their image.) Y'all with your "Coors is like sex on a beach, it's fucking near water" joke never drank no fuckin' Heidelburg. It was made by Rainier back when there was a Rainier brewery. Heidelburg wasn't fucking near water, it fucking WAS water. No flavor, and you had to drink more than you could stand to get a buzz off it. High school kids wouldn't drink it.

39. Utica Club.
When I was a kid we had enough money to buy either a six pack of Budweiser or a case of Utica Club. We bought the case. We'd always have beer at band practice, and it took months and moths of practice to finally finish off that case. Mostly we dumped the once sipped beer down the sink.

We were hard drinking kids too.

45. They also produced the Matt's Beer Ball
An even better bargain than cases of Utica Club was the beer ball. For about $15 you basically got a big brown beach ball that held the equivalent of around 3 cases of beer. The only problem was you had to buy a special tap that only fit beer balls. I think Genny also made a beer ball.

50. Actually, Zima is beer.
It's a malt liquor, basically, a beer with large amounts malts added (ie, sugars)and the color is taken out. But, it's beer, oddly flavored beer, but beer nonetheless. Just like all those other Soda-pop-type drinks, like Smirnoff Ice, etc, they are all flavored beers with no natural colors.

53. None of the above : Black Label ...

You have some truly atrocious beers listed, but none surpasses the sublime awfulness of beers like Black Label. This is nothing but piss filtered through a beer-like substance to impart some degree of beerish flavor. It comes in a white can with a -- you guessed it -- black label. I've seen similar labels of bottles of poison.

Gluek is also rather horrid, and I once had a small taste of Red, White, and Blue beer before forcibly ejecting it from my mouth after seeing those colors flash before my eyes as it hit my tongue. So, at least I know how it was named.

The general consensus was that it was so bad that no company would claim it.
