It's my 10th anniversary, and I'm drunk

This is my feeble, obliterated attempt to elevate the silliness to epic proportions this night before Fitzmas.

All through this house we are drunk on port wine and happy to celebrating 10 years together.

We met while I was still married to an abusive asshole. My darling husband is 5 years my junior and we lost most of our friends to be together (they could not deal). They said we were wrong to fall in love, and try to be together. They said it would never last. They said I was too old for him. My ex called me damaged goods. But here we are, with two happy well-adjusted teenagers--yes, step-families CAN work. Happy endings do happen once in awhile.

It was love at first sight (truly) and we are soul mates in the deepest, most mystical sense of the word.

I know there are many who are cynics about tomorrow (I have been a cynic/journalist most of my life--now I'm recovering). I know there are some that realize that winning tomorrow means hell is coming--that indictments mean a crisis and that those bastards won't give up power easily). I know there is apprehension and giddiness and all.

But tonight, I am happy with my best friend and I want to share some of my silliness with all of you, my second family. Thank you, DU for keeping me closer to sane these past several years.
