Poll question: How do you dress for your "day job"? |
|
Follow-up question: Does it make a damn difference?

There's point in dressing up, my job sometimes requires me to get really dirty.

4. Pretty much wahtever we want. |

For about 5 or 6 months, I wear shorts in the office. Grudgingly, gave in to wearing trousers again last week, due to the chill. Half the people walk around bare footed during the warm months. Corporate clones from the New York office are aghast when they visit. Meanwhile, the main office in London leans closer to our attitude.
And aye, I earn more money (plus benefits) than when I had to dress up.
My take: The more concerned they are with dress codes; the less productive.

Our office is pretty lenient... jeans are ok unless corporate is visiting, so are cargo pants, hiking boots, pretty much whatever, as long as it isn't ragged, sweatpants, or full of holes... I'd love to work someplace it was acceptable (and warm enough) to go barefoot!

I wear anything that is clean, shorts or jeans. A tee shirt, baseball cap, and some top quality running shoes complete the ensemble. Now that it's getting colder I layer on flannel shirts and hoodie sweatshirts.
I am NOT looking forward to breaking out the ski pants and down coat though. Farmer's almanac says lots of snow but milder temps for my area. I hope so, I hate that damn bitter cold with high winds and no scenic snowy vista to compensate.

I don't do that... I will wear nice jeans and nice tops...and when I know that there are important folks coming in...I will dress on the high end of business casual...impressions are everything!

in fact, I wear bedroom slippers while in the building, and have been known to attend meetings in bedroom slippers, jeans and a baseball cap.
I "clean up" and do the professional dress code thing when we have people coming through the office. I lack the wardrobe to maintain a professional dress (or even business casusal, for that matter) standard of clothing!
